After
five years of trying and quite a few kelts along the way - I caught
my first CAA springer in the Long Pool last Wednesday (3rd) late
afternoon. You think it is never going to happen. I had just landed
a kelt having also lost what I thought was a kelt a few minutes
previously. Caught it on a black and yellow double size 6 on a
15ft. fast sink tip (6"/sec).
I estimated the fish at 14 to 15lbs. The plastic bag above the
fish is 100mm wide to give some idea of the length.

both were caught on alleys shrimp fly
